This is by one of the driveways I walk past every morning. There are at least 3 people who have memorials like this in their front yards and one on the way to my sister's house has a flag with an old truck with flowers on it. When people have a memorial to remember someone do they want to be asked about their loved one, probably their child, or do you not acknowledge it and talk of other things. Thinking of which, I wonder if the memorial to Katharine is still on the dock. The windchimes are on my sister's front porch but no one notices them as a memorial to the dogs who were loved and lost. ... For mass produced concrete statues, these are amazingly well done. I look Mr. Soldier in the face and say thank you, pray for those in the military, and their families. That may be the intent of the statues and flags.

We all should be praying for our military every day. As to asking about the memorial, just a comment on it's nice but let the owner bring up who it is for if they so desire.
